Each licence was matched on the regulator’s own register on the date shown. Unverified claims are listed under Regulation and legal entities.
Plus500 is owned by a listed parent that publishes audited accounts, and we matched its UK, Cyprus, Australian, Singapore and Seychelles companies on their regulators’ registers. Its user agreements, which are available without an account, disclose segregation of client money, negative balance protection, the FSCS and ombudsman routes for UK clients, and its fees, including an inactivity fee. The ombudsman upheld 5 of the 34 decisions it published on Plus500UK in the last three years. Plus500 is on the Malaysian regulator’s alert list. Older enforcement, a 2011 Brazilian order to stop offering services there, a 2012 UK fine for transaction reporting failures and 2015 UK restrictions over anti-money laundering checks, is shown but is more than ten years old. Plus500’s website refused our automated requests, so we could not check its risk warning or marketing claims directly.
Each user agreement names the Plus500 company that provides the service, with its regulator and licence number.
The UK and Seychelles agreements say client money is held in segregated bank accounts, under the FCA’s client money rules for UK clients.
The group’s parent, Plus500 Ltd, is a listed company whose annual report describes its regulated subsidiaries.
All five registers we checked show the companies as currently authorised, with no suspension or restriction.
The UK agreement gives the company number and registered address, which match Companies House, and the regulators’ registers give the addresses of the other companies we checked.
Reduced the enforcement dimension by 2 points (low severity, 1.8 years before the review).
Partly met We matched five Plus500 companies on official registers: Plus500UK (FCA), Plus500CY (CySEC), Plus500AU (ASIC), Plus500SG (MAS) and Plus500SEY (Seychelles FSA). The annual report lists eleven more regulators whose registers we did not check.
Not met The agreements describe segregated client bank accounts but do not name the banks.
Partly met Every licence we could check matches Plus500’s statements, but most of the sixteen regulators the annual report names could not be checked.
Partly met CySEC, ASIC and MAS list permissions that cover dealing in CFDs or OTC derivatives as principal, and the FSA lists Plus500SEY as a securities dealer. The FCA’s published list does not show the UK company’s permissions.
