OANDA is a forex and CFD provider founded in 1996 and owned since December 2025 by FTMO, a Czech prop trading company. It serves clients through OANDA Corporation in the US (CFTC and NFA), OANDA (Canada) Corporation ULC (CIRO), OANDA Europe Limited in the UK (FCA), OANDA TMS Brokers in Poland (KNF), OANDA Asia Pacific in Singapore (MAS), OANDA Australia (ASIC), a Japanese company registered with the Kanto Local Finance Bureau, and OANDA Global Markets Ltd in the British Virgin Islands, which serves international clients with leverage of up to 888:1.
Research-based assessment This profile has not completed TTI’s on-site verification and 30-day platform review. How TTI verification works
Each licence was matched on the regulator’s own register on the date shown. Unverified claims are listed under Regulation and legal entities.
Assessment summary
OANDA is transparent about its companies and owners: each region names the company that serves it, and Companies House and FTMO’s announcement identify the two founders of FTMO, which bought the group from CVC in December 2025. We matched six of its eight regulated companies on official registers; the Canadian and BVI licences could not be checked. UK, EU and Australian clients get segregated money, negative balance protection, an ombudsman and, in the UK and EU, a compensation scheme. The BVI company, which serves international clients with leverage of up to 888:1, offers none of the last three, and US forex accounts are not protected by SIPC. The US company has been fined three times since 2020: by the CFTC in 2020 over net capital failures, and by the NFA in 2021 and in 2025, when it also had to repay customers harmed by a pricing display problem. Brazil’s CVM ordered the BVI company to stop soliciting Brazilian residents in 2022.
