Each licence was matched on the regulator’s own register on the date shown. Unverified claims are listed under Regulation and legal entities.
HYCM’s UK company is on the FCA’s register; we could not check the DFSA licence of its Dubai company, and HYCM Capital Markets S.R.L., the Costa Rica company named on the international site, holds no financial licence. UK clients get segregated client money under the FCA’s rules, negative balance protection, the FSCS and the Financial Ombudsman Service. The Costa Rica agreement also resets negative balances, but it has no segregation terms, no compensation scheme and no independent complaints body. The UK company’s accounts name its owner, Stavros Lambouris, through Able Trillion Incorporated after a 2024 management buyout, and say it deals on behalf of a related Dubai company for a fee. HYCM is on Indian and Malaysian lists of unauthorised platforms. Its site calls HYCM multi-regulated and part of a 40-year-old conglomerate, which does not reflect how international clients are served or who now owns it. HYCM gave up its Cyprus licence in 2024. HYCM’s website refuses our requests, so we relied on archived copies of its pages and on its documents.
The UK company’s audited accounts name Able Trillion Incorporated (British Virgin Islands) as its immediate controlling party and S. Lambouris as the ultimate controlling party, and Companies House records Stavros Lambouris as holding 75% or more of its shares and votes since 1 January 2024, after a management buyout from the former holding company, Henyep Development Holdings.
The FCA lists the UK company as authorised, with no restriction shown. CySEC withdrew the licence of the former EU company, HYCM (Europe) Ltd, in June 2024 at the company’s own request.
Both the UK and the Costa Rica agreements reset negative balances to zero across a client’s accounts; we found no client terms for the Dubai company.
The UK complaints procedure routes complaints from customer services to the compliance department, with a final response within eight weeks; the Costa Rica agreement promises a written response within 14 days.
The account types page and the UK costs disclosure publish spreads by account, commissions (USD 4 per round lot on forex, USD 5 on metals and commodities), how overnight financing is calculated, withdrawal fees and the USD 10 monthly inactivity fee, and say HYCM charges no currency conversion fee. The Costa Rica terms charge the inactivity fee after 90 days.

Reduced the enforcement dimension by 1 points (low severity, 5.8 years before the review, counted at half weight).
Partly met We matched HYCM Capital Markets (UK) Limited on the FCA’s list of investment firms. We could not check the DFSA licence of the Dubai company, because the DFSA refuses our requests, and HYCM Capital Markets S.R.L., which serves international clients, holds no licence.
Not met We found no complaint statistics published by HYCM, and its UK company is not in the FCA’s or the ombudsman’s firm-level tables.
Not met HYCM says client funds are kept in tier-1 banks, but neither the UK client funds notice nor the agreements name a bank.

Client-facing entities appear on the regulator’s register 1234
We matched HYCM Capital Markets (UK) Limited on the FCA’s list of investment firms. We could not check the DFSA licence of the Dubai company, because the DFSA refuses our requests, and HYCM Capital Markets S.R.L., which serves international clients, holds no licence.
Regulatory claims on the website are accurate 134
The FCA licence HYCM claims matches the register, and its regulation page lists the Costa Rica company without claiming a licence for it. We could not confirm the DFSA licence claimed for HYCM Capital Markets (DIFC) Limited; the latest archived copy of the DFSA register (May 2025) lists that reference under the name HYCM Limited.
Clients can tell which regulated entity serves them 12678
HYCM’s footer and help centre say HYCM is the trading name of the UK and Costa Rica companies, the regulation page lists the UK, Dubai and Costa Rica companies, and each agreement names its contracting company. The pages we could read do not say which clients each company serves.
Criteria and their weighting are explained in the methodology.
Whether you can find out who owns and runs the firm.
Legal entity details are published 1289
The Costa Rica company’s documents give its full name, registration number and registered office. The UK documents give the company’s name, FCA number and a trading address but not its company number, and HYCM gives only a name and DFSA number for the Dubai company.
Ultimate ownership can be identified 91011
The UK company’s audited accounts name Able Trillion Incorporated (British Virgin Islands) as its immediate controlling party and S. Lambouris as the ultimate controlling party, and Companies House records Stavros Lambouris as holding 75% or more of its shares and votes since 1 January 2024, after a management buyout from the former holding company, Henyep Development Holdings.
Group structure is explained 1710111213
HYCM says the HYCM Capital Markets Group holds controlling interests in the UK and Costa Rica companies, and its regulation page lists the Dubai company. It does not name Able Trillion Incorporated or HYCM DMCC, on whose behalf the UK company deals according to its accounts, and its help centre still describes HYCM as part of an international conglomerate with a 40-year background in financial services, property and charity, although HYCM was bought from its former holding company in a management buyout in 2024.
Financial statements are available 10
The UK company files audited accounts at Companies House (latest to 31 December 2025, with an unqualified opinion from Moore Kingston Smith LLP). We found no financial statements for the Costa Rica company, which serves international clients, or for the Dubai companies.
Criteria and their weighting are explained in the methodology.
What protects client money if something goes wrong.
Client money segregation is disclosed 281014
The UK agreement and client funds notice hold retail client money in segregated client bank accounts under the FCA’s rules, reconciled daily. The Costa Rica agreement contains no segregation terms: client money may be held with a bank or third party outside Costa Rica, and clients may have only an unsecured claim if it fails.
Withdrawal terms are disclosed 28151617
The UK costs disclosure sets out withdrawal fees by method (free by card, 1% by e-wallet above USD 5,000, USD 30 on bank wires under USD 300), and both agreements say approved withdrawals are paid within seven business days, to the original card or bank account.
Criteria and their weighting are explained in the methodology.

Warning lists and enforcement records have been searched 5181920
We searched CySEC’s board decisions, the CVM’s acts, KNF’s lists, the Japan FSA’s list of warned firms and the Indian and Malaysian alert lists, and ran web searches for actions by the FCA, the DFSA, the CNMV and others. We found the Indian and Malaysian alert-list entries. Warnings about clones of HYCM are not findings about the firm.

How the firm handles complaints, and what independent records show.
Independent complaint outcomes show no adverse pattern 22
The ombudsman published no decisions about HYCM’s UK company, under its current or former name, between October 2023 and October 2026.
Complaint data is disclosed 23
We found no complaint statistics published by HYCM, and its UK company is not in the FCA’s or the ombudsman’s firm-level tables.
Criteria and their weighting are explained in the methodology.
Whether costs, execution and risks are disclosed before you sign up.
Costs are disclosed before account opening 15161724
The account types page and the UK costs disclosure publish spreads by account, commissions (USD 4 per round lot on forex, USD 5 on metals and commodities), how overnight financing is calculated, withdrawal fees and the USD 10 monthly inactivity fee, and say HYCM charges no currency conversion fee. The Costa Rica terms charge the inactivity fee after 90 days.
An order execution policy is published 102526
The UK and Costa Rica execution policies say HYCM is the counterparty and sole execution venue and explain the execution factors, and the Costa Rica policy says each order is mirrored with a hedging counterparty that it does not name. The UK accounts say the UK company deals on behalf of a related Dubai company, HYCM DMCC, for a fee, an arrangement the execution policy does not mention.
Leverage and margin terms are disclosed 268
The UK agreement closes positions when equity falls below 50% of the margin requirement, and the home page advertised maximum leverage of 1:30. The Costa Rica agreement sets the close-out level at the margin requirement but lets HYCM change it without notice, and leaves maximum leverage to the website.
Criteria and their weighting are explained in the methodology.
Whether public claims hold up and the firm communicates openly.
Marketing claims are accurate and attributable 12612
HYCM calls itself a multi-regulated provider and advertises maximum fund security and client funds kept in tier-1 banks, but international clients contract with a Costa Rica company that holds no licence and whose agreement has no segregation terms, and no bank is named. Its award counts (over 15 in the help centre, 25 or more on the home page) are not attributed.
An address and working contact channels are published 8927
HYCM publishes phone numbers, email contacts and live chat, but gives different London addresses: St Clement’s House, Clement’s Lane on its contact page (October 2025) and 51 Moorgate in its UK documents (March 2026), while the registered office at Companies House is in Bermondsey Street.
Criteria and their weighting are explained in the methodology.

An Internet Archive copy, taken on 8 October 2025, of the Swedish-language version of HYCM’s regulation page; hycm.com refuses our requests and the English version has no copy from the last 12 months. It says the HYCM group has regulated companies in the UK and the UAE: HYCM Capital Markets (UK) Limited, authorised by the FCA (FRN 186171), and HYCM Capital Markets (DIFC) Limited, authorised by the DFSA (F000048). It lists HYCM Capital Markets S.R.L., registered in Costa Rica (3-102-883933), as another registered company, without a licence.
Agreement with HYCM Capital Markets S.R.L. (Costa Rica, 3-102-883933, Avenida Escazú, Building 102, Tower 2, Office 309, San José). It names no regulator or licence. Client money may be held with an approved bank or third party, possibly outside Costa Rica; the agreement contains no segregation terms and warns that clients may have only an unsecured claim if such a bank fails. A negative balance protection mechanism resets negative balances to zero across a client’s accounts. Positions may be closed when the margin level reaches the close-out level, which equals the margin requirement unless HYCM changes it without notice. Withdrawals are paid within seven business days. Accounts inactive for 90 days pay USD 10 a month. Complaints go to customer support and the complaints manager, with a written response within 14 days; no ombudsman or independent dispute body is named. Changes take effect ten business days after notice, or immediately for margin and execution policy changes.

An Internet Archive copy, taken on 14 May 2025, of the DFSA register entry that was titled Henyep Capital Markets (DIFC) Limited in 2020; the DFSA refuses our requests and we found no copy from the last 12 months. It lists HYCM Limited, a DIFC company trading as HYCM, under reference F000048, licensed on 19 September 2006 to arrange deals in investments (futures, shares, units) with an endorsement for retail clients, at Tenancy 903, Level 9, Liberty House, DIFC. Because it is more than 12 months old we do not use it to verify the licence.

An Internet Archive copy, taken on 10 January 2026, of the English home page. Its title calls HYCM a “Multi-Regulated Forex & CFD Provider”, and it advertises negative balance protection, “Client Funds Kept in Tier-1 Banks”, “Maximum fund security”, “25+ Global Awards” and “40+ years of Group cumulative experience”, a USD 20 minimum deposit and maximum leverage of 1:30. The footer carries a general high-risk warning without a loss percentage, says HYCM does not serve residents of Afghanistan, Belgium, Hong Kong, the United States and some other regions, and names HYCM Capital Markets S.R.L., registered in Costa Rica (3-102-883933).
An Internet Archive copy, taken on 7 October 2025; the help centre refuses our requests. It lists the Costa Rica company’s customer agreement, terms of business, legal documents and anti-money laundering notice. The legal footer says HYCM is the trading name of HYCM Capital Markets (UK) Limited (FCA 186171) and HYCM Capital Markets S.R.L. (Costa Rica, 3-102-883933), and that the HYCM Capital Markets Group is a holding company with controlling interests in both. Its risk warning says that between 73 and 76% of retail investor accounts lose money when trading CFDs, without naming a provider.
Agreement with HYCM Capital Markets (UK) Limited (FCA 186171, 51 Moorgate, London EC2R 6LL); it does not give the company’s registration number. Retail clients have negative balance protection across their accounts. Positions are closed when equity falls below 50% of the margin requirement. Eligible clients are covered by the FSCS up to £85,000 and may complain to the Financial Ombudsman Service. Withdrawals are paid within seven business days. Directors: Stavros Lambouris (since 10 January 2024) and Marcin Piotr Swanson-Zajac (since 21 August 2024); secretary Nisha Vaya. Filed on 4 May 2026 as a scanned document, which we read with text recognition. Moore Kingston Smith LLP gave an unqualified opinion. The company provides execution-only dealing services in CFDs for retail and professional clients on behalf of a fellow group company, HYCM DMCC, which pays it a cost-plus fee that is its only income (£981,137 in 2025); the loss for the year was £236,304 (2024: profit of £1,250,050). Client bank accounts held under the FCA’s client asset rules totalled £398,850 at the year end. The immediate controlling party is Able Trillion Incorporated (British Virgin Islands), which does not prepare consolidated accounts, and the ultimate controlling party is S. Lambouris. The company sold its shares in HYCM Capital Markets (DIFC) Limited to Able Trillion in 2024.
Filed on 1 May 2025 as a scanned document, which we read with text recognition. Says that on 1 January 2024 Able Trillion Incorporated (British Virgin Islands) acquired all of HYCM from the former ultimate holding company, Henyep Development Holdings Limited, in a management buyout by two long-serving senior managers, Roger Bach and Stavros Lambouris, and that Stavros Lambouris took full control when Roger Bach retired in September 2024. On the same date the company sold its subsidiary HYCM Limited to Able Trillion, and during 2024 it also sold HYCM Capital Markets (DIFC) Limited to Able Trillion.

On 7 October 2026 we searched CySEC’s 1,173 board decisions (2014 to 2026), the CVM’s declaratory acts, KNF’s brokerage and penalty lists, the Japan FSA’s list of warned unregistered firms (25 September 2026) and the Reserve Bank of India, Securities Commission Malaysia and Bank Negara Malaysia alert lists for HYCM and Henyep, and ran web searches for actions by the FCA, the DFSA, the CNMV and others. We found the Indian and Malaysian alert-list entries, and CySEC’s 2024 withdrawal of HYCM (Europe) Ltd’s licence at the company’s own request, which is not a finding. FCA warnings about clones of HYCM and a CNMV warning of 17 March 2025 about hycmcapitalmarkets.com concern impersonators and are not findings about HYCM.
